Notes from Ellen Payne . . . PLEASE READ! :) Hi everyone! Thank you for your interest in helping us with our Friendsgiving potluck! 1. The main portions (i.e., the meat) for this dinner will be catered; we just need people to sign up to bring appetizers, side dishes, desserts and drinks! 2. You do NOT have to contribute traditional American Thanksgiving dishes / foods - be creative, bring dishes from your culture, etc.! 3. Please do SIGN UP if you're planning to bring something - it's important that we have a semi-accurate idea of how much food will be available. Last year, many people brought things without signing up (which was so generous!), but because the sign-up sheet looked sparse, I was a little worried we wouldn't have enough food. 4. As many of you know, we do not have a way to keep foods warm or warm them up in large quantities in the CWB (there's only a microwave), so please keep that in mind when choosing and preparing your dishes (e.g., try to bring hot foods in trays that will retain the heat). 5. You do not need to cook or bake your dish yourself; store-bought is just fine. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions. Thanks again! |
