The Email that Changed Everything!
Seventeen years ago, January was a difficult month. My precious friend, Rachel, was recovering from the sudden onset of a heart issue. Her prognosis was uncertain and everyone who loved her wanted to help her family in some way. I was trying to create a meal schedule using email and phone calls because that's how we did things in 2008. I called my friend, Scott, because I knew he had started to design websites and asked if he could put Rachel's meal schedule online. In no time at all, I received the email below.

Adina,
It's done - and pretty fun, I think. And very expandable to be used as often as people want for the online coordination of meals for folks who are sick, new parents, elderly, etc.
Let me know if you have any ideas to make it easier to use, or more helpful.
Thanks,
Scott
Very quickly Take Them A Meal moved into the hands of others who wanted to help their own friends. The second schedule was created for a young mom in our church, and before we knew it, there were people using the site in Winter Park, FL. The spread happened quickly not because of anything we did, but because of your desire to care for your friends in meaningful ways.
I love seeing in the original email from Scott that he asked me for ideas to make the site "easier to use." Our main goal for Take Them A Meal has always been to make the site easy to use while providing you the best recipes, support, and resources. That way, you can spend less time organizing meal deliveries and more time with your friends and loved ones.
Our goal for 2025 is to continue to make Take Them A Meal the easiest way to care for your friends with meals. Happy New Year!
