4 Friendly Meal-Taking Tips!
Preparing and taking a meal is one of my favorite ways to bless a loved one in need! At times, however, I can feel overwhelmed in doing so due to an already busy schedule! Over the past several years, I have discovered a few things that have helped to make taking a meal easier. I hope these four friendly tips help make the next meal you take much less stressful!
Make a Plan!
Making a plan is always the BEST way to make this process easy! Start by picking a day you know will best fit your schedule. Shop for all of your necessary ingredients and items (like disposable baking pans) in advance so you will have everything you need to make and take your meal! Last, by making and sticking with your plan, you aren't left with last-minute decisions when the day arrives for you to bless your loved one with a wonderful home-cooked meal!
Take Note of Any Allergies and Special Instructions
There is nothing more discouraging than taking the time to prepare a lovely meal only to realize the intended recipient can't enjoy it due to an allergy. The next most important way to make taking a meal easier is to note any allergies listed or special instructions given. It may be that the recipient has a gluten sensitivity or a small appetite due to a recent difficult surgery. Any allergies or special instructions are listed directly on the meal schedule. You will want to be sure to review those before deciding what to make.
Use Disposable Pans or Plates
I love using aluminum pans or paper plates when preparing and taking a meal. They are convenient, inexpensive, and minimize cleanup. They can even be used to store leftover food! Paper plates are equally helpful, especially if I am taking smaller meal portions! If you are looking for great, small-portioned meal ideas, click here!
Drop Off a Freezer Meal, Gift Card, or Send Them a Meal
There may be times when a meal recipient is unable to welcome people into their homes for a meal drop-off. You can still bless them with a meal by providing a freezer meal, gift card, or even send them a meal to be delivered exactly when they need it.
Over the years, I have learned that following these simple guidelines helps ensure taking a meal is easy and a success! Do you have any tips you'd like to share with us? We'd love to hear!
