8 Creative Back to School Potluck Ideas
Did you know we offer a free website that makes school potluck planning a breeze?
Have some fun with these unique potluck ideas, perfect for the upcoming fall/back-to-school season!
Pizza Party - Everyone, young and old, loves a pizza party. Consider unique combinations like pesto, bbq chicken, and philly cheesesteak pizza. Add plastic red checked tablecloths to create a festive mood.
Family Favorites - This is a great theme because 1. it's easy to choose what to make from your regular rotation and 2. it's nice to see and try what other families enjoy.
Tailgate - Game day isn't complete without yummy comfort food like dips, finger sandwiches, and a big pot of chili with all the fixings. Decorate the room with your favorite team colors and logos.
Soup and Sandwiches - Keep things simple with delicious soup and sandwich combinations like grilled cheese and tomato soup, or ham and cheese and broccoli cheddar soup.
School Lunch - Kids of all ages like sloppy joes, tater tots, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches (just don't include my husband's least favorite food from his elementary school cafeteria- Salmon Pea Wiggle!). Decorate the tables with school supplies.
Apple theme - Since apples are in season why not try traditional sweet dishes like baked caramel apples, as well as savory dishes like a kale, apple, and cheddar salad or our favorite pork loin?
Throwback (Favorite Childhood Dishes) - Would your mom or grandmother make your favorite meal for your birthday when you were young? Make your request for a potluck this fall and see if it's as good as you remember!
Taco Bar - Have a variety of options like chicken, pork, or beef, hard or soft shell tacos, spicy or mango salsa, and let your potluck participants go to town!
