Taking Them Breakfast

Taking Them Breakfast
When I think (with deep gratefulness) about all the meals I've received over the years, a few stand out in my mind. Surprisingly, it's not the meals with the most extravagant menus or most creative presentation. For me, the meals I remember most fondly are the ones that included the thoughtful extras. It's the friends who knew us well enough to know that we needed just that little bit more, who put in the additional effort to provide for our needs and in doing so showed us that we were known and loved.
Including breakfast with your meal is one way to go that extra mile. Here are a few of my favorite breakfast recipes. It can be overwhelming to take someone a meal, especially if meal taking is not your thing, so I only chose recipes that are quick and easy. There are even a few that you can freeze and have ready to go when needed. With just a little extra time, you can bless someone doubly by providing dinner and breakfast.

When your friend has been up countless times with a newborn, or is not sleeping well as her body adjusts to new treatments, making a nutritious breakfast can be hard. Freezer breakfast sandwiches are the perfect choice to include with your meal - they freeze well so you can make them at your convenience, they heat up fast, and they will fill your friend up with protein-rich foods to provide energy for the long days and nights ahead.

Homemade donuts made in less than 15 minutes?! Sounds amazing for the meal provider and the meal recipient! It doesn't get easier than these cinnamon-sugar donuts from Little Bit Funky. Save the center you cut out of the biscuits and make donut holes (maybe even for your own family if there's enough!). Your friends will love you for including these with your meal!

The health benefits of spinach are well-known. You won't miss the crust in this crustless spinach quiche. It is gluten-free, low carb, and really yummy. Bake in a disposable pie plate for easy transport and clean up or a muffin tin as a bite-size, easy-to-eat option.

I included this baked oatmeal with a meal I made for a family and they're still mentioning it 6 years later! It's that good! And that easy. Just mix all the ingredients together and bake. The recipe is quite flexible, so feel free to make adjustments according to your preferences.

When you're nursing a baby, you don't have full use of both hands. Filling foods that you can eat one-handed are helpful to have around. These cranberry orange muffins would be a delicious treat for a new mom or anyone who loves that flavor combination (and who wouldn't!?)
